How to create a CV that is readable for recruiters and applicant tracking systems.

An ATS is software that helps employers manage job applications. Not every company uses the same system, but a clean CV format is safer because both software and recruiters can read it more easily.

Use standard section names such as Professional Summary, Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Languages, and References. Creative section names can make your CV harder to scan.

Avoid putting important text only inside images, icons, or complex graphics. Your name, contact details, job titles, employers, and dates should be normal text.

Use job keywords naturally. If the job post mentions inventory control, customer service, cash handling, electrical maintenance, or social media marketing, include the skills you genuinely have.

Do not overload your CV with keywords. Write real duties and achievements. A recruiter should still understand your experience after the software reads it.

Use readable file names such as Mohammed-Arham-Logistics-Assistant-CV.pdf. This looks more professional than finalcvnewversion2.pdf.

PDF is usually fine for finished CVs, while Word can be useful when an agency wants to edit formatting. BuildMyCVNow lets you download both.

Keep the layout clean. Fancy designs may look attractive, but simple structure usually performs better for job applications.
