Common CV problems that can reduce interview chances, plus quick ways to fix them.

The first mistake is using old or wrong contact details. Always check your phone number, WhatsApp number, and email address before sending your CV.

The second mistake is writing a very general job title. Instead of applying as worker, write the exact role: nanny, driver, cashier, waiter, electrician, logistics assistant, or office assistant.

The third mistake is listing duties without results or detail. Instead of handled warehouse tasks, write received deliveries, updated inventory records, prepared orders, and coordinated dispatch documents.

The fourth mistake is forgetting languages, visa status, driving license, certificates, and references. These are especially useful for UAE and GCC applications.

The fifth mistake is using one CV for every job. If you apply for cashier jobs, your CV should focus on cash handling, customer service, POS, and accuracy. If you apply for warehouse jobs, focus on inventory, picking, packing, and dispatch.

Also avoid too many colors, tiny text, and long personal stories. Employers need a professional document that is easy to read on phone or laptop.

Use the preview before downloading. Read the CV as if you are the employer and ask: can I quickly understand this person, their experience, and how to contact them?

A clean, honest, focused CV will not guarantee a job, but it can improve your chance of being understood and shortlisted.
